Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.' - Luke 15:8-9 NIV
I have been having discussions recently with friends about their purpose and what they would like to accomplish during their brief time here on earth. It's amazing the common theme that's prevalent for the ones that don't quite know what that "one" thing is. They have special talents and a wonderful skill set, but it's that one missing thing that keeps them from actually pursuing their purpose with passion and focus. It's a paralyzing feeling and one that I've experienced on a personal basis.
The scripture above taken from Luke provides an excellent strategy for those that may be in the position referenced in the previous paragraph. The woman has a three step process that we should adopt. Step one, she had taken an accurate inventory and knew exactly what was missing. Step two, after identifying what it is that's missing, she now implements a process to find the missing item at all costs because of the importance that is attached to it. Step three, and this is important for us community of men. Once she finds the missing coin, she called others together to celebrate. The reason why this last step has special significance for me is because we need to be able to share our successes with each other. In addition, we can share the process that we utilized in order to find the missing item that kept us from effectively pursuing our purpose with other men. They may find value in it and be able to apply it to their situation.
ACTION PLAN: ADOPT THE PROCESS USED BY THE WOMAN IN LUKE TO FIND HER MISSING COIN. ONCE YOU EXPERIENCE THE SATISFACTION DERIVED FROM FINDING THE ONE THING THAT KEEPS YOU FROM EFFECTIVELY PURSUING YOUR PURPOSE, SHARE IT WITH OTHER MEN.
PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO OTHERS.
